Some Strategy

Here are few strategic notes that didn’t make it into the help screens for this release:

  • The chests are color coded, red for recharge, blue for defense, purple for power, green for health and gold for experience.
  • Chests drop near the hero – so if you hang around a clearing in your free time, you’ll accumulate a stockpile of chests there.
  • The experience chest gives you 25% of you level, and if you reach the next level it restores your health. If you time it right, it can save your life!

Tower defenders are dime-a-dozen these days. Townrs Defender (no, not a typo) starts with the same old concept — use a range of forceful methods to prevent waves of unpleasant-looking creatures from barging through a gate — and adds a twist: the hero.

The Plague Sword

Destroy your enemies with the Plague Sword

Destroy your enemies with the Plague Sword

The Plague Sword imbues whoever wields it with the powers of Death and Disease. Strike deep into the heart of your enemy, and victory shall be yours!

A simple disease can wreak havoc on a people, unperturbed by military might. Bring the Plague sword to bear on your foe, and weaken him: infect his body, leaving him unable to move; infect his mind, confusing him as to friend and foe; infect his soul, and it shall not be long for this world.

Infect your enemies

Infect your enemies

Disease Strike

The basic attack for this weapon will leave a wound that stings long after the initial strike. After damaging your opponent, it will cause sustained damage over time as a disease takes hold, leading your opponent to his death.

Make the most of this weapon by infecting multiple enemies at once; watch as they all succumb to your might. Given time, a single hit may kill an enemy; and a thousand hits may kill an army.

Slow the assault

Slow the assault

Ensare Body

A cloud of spores suddenly surrounds your enemies; they halt their assault, coughing and clutching their chests. Soon it passes, and they once again look at you with an evil glee in their eyes. But as they move to approach you, they realize that their limbs have lost their strength, and barely respond to their commands. Lamely, they limp closer, allowing you to pick them off at your leisure.

Ensare Body can halt the advance of an entire group of enemies, giving you time to retreat, or allowing you to watch from a safe distance as your Disease Strikes continue to damage them.

Minions turn on their Master

Minions turn on their Master

Infect Mind

An elemental fiend laughs menacingly at you – it appears you are overwhelmed. His minions surround you on all sides, and you have no retreat. Silently smiling, you plunge your sword into the ground, releasing a plume of smoke that is gone in a whisper. But something has changed. The minions look at each other in confusion, their glares now crazed. As one, they turn on their master, and attack.

Infect Mind allows you to use your foes to your advantage. Any enemy infected will assault former allies, allowing you to decimate the opposing force from within. Bosses, however, have enough willpower to be immune to this attack.

No one will escape unharmed

Plague Cloud

Every civilization has, within its tomes of history, a story of a great disease that nearly wiped them out. Master the Plague Sword, and the great disease becomes yours to unleash. Merely wave your sword above your head, and conjure a cloud of pure death in the midst of your enemies.

Plague Cloud will do damage over time to all enemies within it for a period of time. Use it well, and it can decide the course of the battle before it has even begun. Place it where enemies must walk through it, and watch as they stumble to their knees before ever reaching you.
